Be Uplifted with Green Mandarin
Green Mandarin comes from the unripened fruit of the Mandarin tree although it may surprise you to learn the aroma of the Green Mandarin is less sour than most citrus oils.
Green Mandarin comes from the thinning process and is the green unripe fruit of the mandarin tree. In the past 60-70 percent of the green fruit was removed, discarded and left on the ground to decompose, as the fruit is too tart to be enjoyed.
Now a unique essential oil is obtained from these young, unripe fruits which have the rinds cold-pressed to yield a fragrant, uplifting oil distinct from that of fully ripened mandarins (which is known as Red Mandarin essential oil). The good news is the Brazilian farmers who create these two oils use the income from the Green Mandarin oil to cover their costs, while the Red Mandarin oil from the fully ripened harvest gives them the profit.
Green Mandarin offers a wider range of benefits to most other citrus oils and may be preferred for cosmetic use.
Green Mandarin also has a unique chemistry with skin and hair benefits similar to those found in Melaleuca (Tea Tree) and is lower in limonene than citrus oils, offering instead a proportionally higher concentration of gamma-Terpinene. Like other citrus oils, Green Mandarin has cleansing properties, but may be a better choice for applications in beauty (including skin and hair care) because it does not have the furanocoumarins which gives other citrus oils their high photosensitivity levels. It also has lots of other benefits having soothing properties on the nervous system as well as supporting healthy digestive, immune, and respiratory function.
Being a citrus oil Green Mandarin also helps you to feel more cheerful and gives your mood a boost, but will also soothe upset feelings or when you're feeling oversensitive.
