What is the Best Thank You that you have ever received?
"Thank you" is probably two of the most underused words there are and the diminishing use of them says a lot about how people behave today. You are happy to receive, but are you every truly thankful for what you get and for what you have? Does thanks need to be in the shape of a present or are the words themselves enough when given sincerely and with genuine gratitude. Empty words are meaningless just as a gift given in an arbitrary and flippant way.
So how can you get it right? A genuine heartfelt response is something the giver and receiver feels. As a human being I am sure you can suss out the person who does not care against the person who does. Thanks does not have to be extravagant, ostentatious or over the top. It just needs to be honest and to the point.
The receiver does not necessarily expect a gift for the words of thanks and the acknowledgement that goes with it is enough. It seems society now places too much emphasis on objects. Perhaps words have lost their meaning and become empty to you.
But I know this much. Discovering something about someone who had been benefiting very well from me, but never gave any thanks or recognition for that fact annoyed me. Maybe you have been in a similar situation? Maybe you think it doesn't matter. For maybe, if you are not confronted about something it is easier to take the benefits and say nothing at all.
It is a quandary to my mind, and you may have some thoughts of your own. Have you ever felt that way? Did you do anything about it? Did doing anything about it resolve your feeling and thoughts on the matter. Or did it just highlight one simple thing? The person concerned just didn't think a Thank You was needed? Share your comments and thoughts on this as it is fascinating to know what you think.
