What makes attraction?
With Valentine's day upon us you may be thinking about your partner and giving them a gift or having a special night out even to show your love and appreciation of them.
But have you ever thought about what your ideal partner is like? Maybe you have a type of person that you are instantly attracted to. Your ideal partner could be anything from tall, dark and handsome to short, fat and cuddly with everything in between, but the truth is attractiveness is a lot deeper than just looks. It can be their smile, the way they make you laugh or feel, the sound of their voice or their knowledge. You will be attracted to different traits in a person and that is what makes us all unique. But there are six qualities according to science that are universally recognised to make you more attractive.
Whatever you do this Valentine's day, don't forget to show the person you love most that you do love and care for them and have a lovely day.
Be yourself
If you can't work someone out because they aren't being themselves then it makes it difficult for you to understand what they are really saying not just through their words, but their body language, mannerisms, facial expressions, their emotions and how they behave. This will affect your confidence because when you feel you can comprehend someone on a deeper level you feel more positive in yourself, that you are creating a connection and that will make that person seem to be more attractive. The best thing you can do is to just be yourself and if you aren't right for each other it is better to have found that out the right way rather than thinking the other person was being insincere or false.Don't be a slouch
Sometimes confidence and sexiness go hand in hand and there is nothing worse than looking at a couch potato or someone who is standing badly. People that stand straighter and sit up with better posture with more open body language and good eye contact give off an air of more confidence as opposed to a person that is slumped in a chair or with crossed arms etc. Not only are you doing your body a favour by having better posture, the more open your body language and gestures, the more trust you are going to be creating and it can even suggest an ability to navigate more successfully in social relationships.Show some kindness
If you have ever been on the receiving end of negative behaviour then you will know how much it can not only hurt your feelings and deeply affect you. You've probably told others about that person and what you think about them. But did you know that a person that is perceived to be a kinder and nicer person with more positive personality traits will be regarded also as being more attractive also? The more helpful you are seen as being the better, as these traits indicate someone that will be less selfish and more likely to help and give support to other. In your busy life having someone that is prepared to chip in and help you with the day to day stuff makes them a much better prospect than the person that doesn't.Where are your friends?
If you hang out in a group you will appear to be more attractive than the person that is often alone. Your brain take an average of the facial features and if you are in a group any more exagerrrated features will seem to be more ordinary. When you appear in a group photo you are generally going to be perceived to be more attractive against photos of you on your own. It could be that average features suggest a diverse gene pool, which could indicate better health and offspring. Even if you are not looking for a potential mate, having a good group of friends to hang out with is still a positive thing to do.
Get a dog!
Some dog owners will tell you, that people probably know more about their dog then what they do about them! A dog is a great conversation starter and ice breaker, but it can also make you more attractive to other people as well. In fact single women in particular love a man that has a dog as a pet. Having a dog may make you appear more trustworthy and less threatening. If you’re looking to get more positive attention from people, consider having a dog by your side, while a larger number of single people won't date a person that doesn't like pets.Wear some red
Valentine's day is often associated not only with love, but the colour red. Red roses for romance and love, chocolates with red wrappers and red hearts etc. Red has been linked to love and attraction in humans and animals. Red has been linked to strength and status in humans and if you wear a touch of red it can make you appear more attractive and for women sexually receptive.Whatever you do this Valentine's day, don't forget to show the person you love most that you do love and care for them and have a lovely day.
