Trick or TreaT?
Do you trick or treat? Do you like trick or treaters? Some people don't for cultural religious reasons. Some do because they like dressing up, having sweets and stuff and see it as a load of fun. As a child I found it confusing. You spent your days being told don't talk to strangers, don't knock on strangers doors, don't go out at night etc Then on this one night it was ok to do all things you were told not to do. Personally I'd rather go out for a good party than be out in the cold, knocking on the doors of people that clearly don't want you knocking on them and getting not very much for all that stress.

Clock changes
With the clocks going back it feels so much later in the evening. It is dark sooner and the evening seems to be much longer. How do you fill your time constructively when you feel it is much later than it is?

Busy
Next week will be super busy. Do you think of the week ahead as being filled with opportunities or full chores and stuff you have to do, but don't want to? What can you do to change it to a week of opportunities so it feels better for you? What is working well in your life right now and what isn't. What would you change?

Spend or Save?
If you have some spare money do you spend it or save it? What do you think this says about you? Do you think if you spend it means you live in the here and now? Do you think on the other hand if you save that you are preparing for the future? Isn't it easy to spend what you have without any real thought? I recently bought some things and in retrospect didn't really need to. You have some money and you just spend it. You need to think more closely on what you actually do with your money and how much it really benefits you.

How to make something happen
It is said the more you express something you want to do and achieve by saying it out loud and by sharing that idea to other people the more likely it is that you will make it happen. You say you are going to do something. You are held accountable for that fact because by telling others and sharing it you feel you have to action it. To stop yourself from losing face by not doing what you said you would do you have to make moves to make that thing happen. Does that make sense? Put simply. Think it, speak it, do it.

How do you find the right people?
I joined up to be an Ambassador with Progressive Property and Unlimited Success in Peterborough UK, which means you can have access to some fantastic courses. However, I didn't think I knew the right kind of people to give recommendations to. This is when you have to think a little differently. You look at what you have to offer, then can that be of any good to any other groups of people that you can reach out to? So you don't necessarily have to reach out to friends and the like, but maybe the company you work in. I tried this and offered Expert Speaker Discovery as I personally have had fantastic results with the course and could see how it could apply for different types of people. The results have been really good and encouraging. By reaching out with a solution to a problem some people may have you may resonate with them and get responses. Hopefully they get something of value and you do too. Never think to yourself that what your personal resources aren't good enough. Look beyond that and you will realise that you can find potential leads right under your nose.

What is the Best Thank You?
What is the Best Thank You that you have ever received?
"Thank you" is probably two of the most underused words there are and the diminishing use of them says a lot about how people behave today. You are happy to receive, but are you every truly thankful for what you get and for what you have? Does thanks need to be in the shape of a present or are the words themselves enough when given sincerely and with genuine gratitude. Empty words are meaningless just as a gift given in an arbitrary and flippant way.
So how can you get it right? A genuine heartfelt response is something the giver and receiver feels. As a human being I am sure you can suss out the person who does not care against the person who does. Thanks does not have to be extravagant, ostentatious or over the top. It just needs to be honest and to the point.
The receiver does not necessarily expect a gift for the words of thanks and the acknowledgement that goes with it is enough. It seems society now places too much emphasis on objects. Perhaps words have lost their meaning and become empty to you.
But I know this much. Discovering something about someone who had been benefiting very well from me, but never gave any thanks or recognition for that fact annoyed me. Maybe you have been in a similar situation? Maybe you think it doesn't matter. For maybe, if you are not confronted about something it is easier to take the benefits and say nothing at all.
It is a quandary to my mind, and you may have some thoughts of your own. Have you ever felt that way? Did you do anything about it? Did doing anything about it resolve your feeling and thoughts on the matter. Or did it just highlight one simple thing? The person concerned just didn't think a Thank You was needed? Share your comments and thoughts on this as it is fascinating to know what you think.

How Tidy is your Desk?
Occasionally I get very cross and give my desk a tidy. Ok so it looks a bit chaotic, but it's not as bad as it looks. You may find the Battlefield2 Zboard a little bit of a surprise and from a typing perspective it's a little weird, but I'm used to it and type quite fast nonetheless. I have lots of note books because when I go to seminars or listen to anything that I think I may learn from I take notes. Lots of them. It's a little bit obsessive. I have just bought 7 more! I keep saying I'm going to plan my day better. I was doing this on my mac calendar, but I didn't keep it going. I think I'm more productive when I plan my time. I now have some daily planner notebooks, so I'm going to give them a go. I've just become an Ambassador for Progressive Properties and Unlimited Success, which gives the checklist for social media that I have been following. It's interesting and I want to see how well that works out. There is a little tube of L'Occitane hand cream because I don't like having dry hands. The black thing contains heart shaped chakra stones, which I bought to help me focus on them, but I haven't got round to doing that yet! One thing I do use a lot is the green note paper, which is in a box under the notebooks! The red tin has some loose change in it. Other items you can't see are a wicker organiser thing contains all kinds of items. I often print off lyrics to songs I really like so there are a few in there, plus paint charts - of course?! I've also got scissors in there and some pens although I write with a biro (any old that works) and the one I'm using will be on my mouse mat. I also have a tape measure and usually there is a roll of sellotape handy. At the moment I'm watching pt2 of Rob Moore's Business Income Builder. Paperwork has also migrated onto the top of my piano, with coursework notes and a New Testament on there (I probably need some Divine help and intervention).

Memories
Have you ever looked through old photos? All those memories. All those moments in time captured in a fleeting moment. It is amazing how much you change over the years. How you think about yourself. If you could go back and speak to yourself when you were younger what would you tell yourself?

The reason I started The Happy Foot Clinic
The Happy Foot Clinic started because I wanted to do something where I was valued for what I did. Have you ever felt that you are not valued in your job and that what you do does not matter? It can be a difficult place to be because if you cannot find satisfaction in your work then it makes for a very long day. It is great to know first hand that the customer's I see are happy with their treatments and to see an improvement in their foot health really does make it worth while. It is not an easy step to start your own business and there are plenty of things you may not know. You learn as you go along. Yes there are things you may have done differently, but you never regret trying.

Gratitude
I was slightly perturbed to find I had unknowingly helped someone. Now this isn't a bad thing as such, but what peeved me is the person had never acknowledged that or said thank you or offered some genuine encouragement or support when they have actually met me on a personal level and know things are a struggle right now. It made me think, how your values change when you see things from a different viewpoint. And I really did. It made me think would you have behaved the same without even realising it? You take something for granted. Money values change for you to a point where you don't even appreciate what that sum would mean to another person. Imagine it if your actions benefited someone, but they just took it for granted. Or even worse were kind of patronising "Oh look at what I've done, you can be just like me!" Then maybe that is what celebs become. They just take it for granted, they don't see the little people anymore because they've got so rich the small sums no longer mean anything. I kind of feel that is what has happened to this person. And the shocker. It's in quite a short space of time - only a few years and that person has forgotten what those sums of money mean to real people. How easy it is to become beguiled by your own success.

Too much to do!
Do you feel like you don't know whether you are coming or going? You have so much going on you don't know what to do next? At the end of the day you can only do one thing at a time, so you just have to choose the most important and deal with that.

Patience
Have you ever spent an hour on the phone with a company to get something resolved? Ok so the call may not pan out how you wanted, but patience is always key. Yes it is easy to get angry with the person at the end of the phone, but chances are they are not specifically responsible for the dilemma or problem you are facing. Being rude and shouting at someone else only creates bad feeling on both sides, and who wants to ruin their day by being unkind to someone else? Patience and perseverance will see you through and you will be a better and probably happier person for it in the long run. That is not to say that you are grovelling to them, you can still be forceful and polite to make a point without behaving in a way that is offensive and rude. If you are going through a hard time getting something sorted just remember the number of hours in the day and remember that most of your time will actually be spent doing other things. It kind of put things into perspective if you look at it that way. Don't worry, you'll get things sorted in the end. Sometimes it just takes longer than you anticipated.

Little changes
Today I did my first newsletter. Now it's probably not the most momentous piece of information you'll hear today, but it represents a step forward. Every little thing you do, is just that. A step forward. Working out changes on how you do things can seem like a challenge, but you start and work it out as you go along. Little changes are all you need to make.

Get that Idea off the Ground
Have you have ever had an idea or thought niggling you at the back of your mind? You know it will be good for you to do this, but you can't quite seem to get the idea/project off the ground. Maybe you have half heartedly tried, but have been distracted by other things. Don't worry, if you're serious about it you'll work it out. Just keep giving yourself reminders and listen out or look for reminders that reinforce your idea as being the right thing to do. You have something you have been promising yourself that you would start doing and you just haven't started it yet. The more you focus on something the more likely it is it will become a reality. Just keep that focus and it will happen.

Don't worry
Have you ever felt worried about something because you haven't done it before? Worry and anticipation are natural, but you can sometimes paint a picture in your mind that isn't helpful. Once you have actually done something then you can have a greater grasp of what it is like, but even then the more you do something the easier it becomes. So don't worry yourself, because whatever it is might not be as bad as you thought. Once you have done something the once you then have knowledge about it that you didn't have before.

The Power of Networking
Networking may not be your thing, but it is certainly useful. A good network will put you in touch with different people with all kinds of knowledge and skill-sets. I belong to a group and have not attended for a few months due to one thing or another. You may find you fall out of a routine and it is hard to get back into going to an event that you used to regularly attend, but it is worth while to make yourself take that step. Reconnecting with contacts can be a good thing and you may well learn something new or add to some existing knowledge. I have been considering doing more visual content on social media accounts and tonights meeting was about the very subject. Again my conscience has been pricked and it is making me think about ways that I can implement some strategies. Watch this space and let's see what comes of it.

The best way to Learn
Trying to learn something new can be a bit overwhelming and even more so when you have a time limit. So how do you tackle this the best? 20 mins is the optimum learning time, so if you can put your learning into segments of 20 mins that will help. Overdoing one subject will just overload your brain so try and balance what you learn. Take regular breaks. Make a learning plan to make sure you cover all the material you need to. Most importantly schedule in some down time when you can relax and do something else. Cramming everything in at one go probably isn't going to be the most productive way so use the time you do have wisely.

How to prioritise
Do you have lots of ideas buzzing around in your head? Do you need to get them into order? I have a load of stuff I need and want to do, but just don't know where to start.
Sometimes you'll have a load of tasks that you need to do, but you don't know where to begin. Start by getting everything out of your head and onto paper. Then think about each item and decide how important it is to you. Does this need to dealt with now, is this a long term goal, is that a short term goal? Try and really focus on each thing to assess how important it is right now. Then decide if you need to be doing it or if you can get someone else to do it for you. Just by writing everything you need to do down will be a start as you can start to prioritise. Putting tasks into some sort of order will then mean that those that have been bothering you, but aren't really that important will no longer be taking your attention and you can put them to one side.

Dealing with time limits
Have you ever been set a time limit to do something? I had an interesting task to day. To give a talk that lasted no more than 3 minutes. It is very easy to waffle on, but when you are restricted to a certain length of time it really makes you think about what it is you are saying and what it really important. Yes I had loads more to say, but that wasn't the point of the exercise. Can you learn anything from this? Well yes. There may be situations where you have a time limit. Some public speakers are fined for every minute that they go over from their allocated slot. This can turn into a hefty fine. Not only that it shows if you have properly prepared your speech or not. To get something to the correct time takes practice and plenty of it.
