Tips to slim in under 10 days
Like it or not, what you eat will affect your waistline and salty snacks can be tasty and tempting for the wrong reason. I have a confession here - I love crisps/potato chips and just can't get enough of them and when that bag is open it has to be wrestled off me to stop me eating more. In fact all self control is gone and maybe you have that feeling yourself sometimes, but what you may not realise is that there is a simple reason why you may be losing your self control and it's all down to salt.Cut Down on Salt
You may not be aware of the salt content in your food, but chips, crisps, tortilla chips, fries, salted popcorn, nuts and many processed foods or ready meals can be laden with hidden salts. Not only do these make you more thirsty, which can then tempt you to drink more but too much salt in your diet may actually be bloating you up. This is because high sodium foods (found in salt) cause water retention. Salt is also quite addictive, which may explain those blow outs when you eat way to much and end up eating more than your good intentions intended. Even a small bag of chips/crisps can have a big calorie hit and it's easy to get through one bag.
If you want a quick snack try some raw veg with a healthy dip, eat some fresh fruit or salad with a balsamic vinegar dressing. And let's face a lot of those unhealthy choices are either very bland in colour or are full of nasty additives, colouring and the like to make them look more appetising. Avoid ready made and processed foods as well. These may be more convenient to pop in a microwave or oven, but there will probably be hidden calories, salt or fat in there that aren't helping your waistline. Try planning your meals and if you can made extra and freeze the extra portions for days when you are time strapped. Challenge yourself to make a simple food swap when you would normally eat foods that are high in salt and do this over a 14 day period to see how you look and feel at the end of it.
There are lots of reasons that you may have to want to be slimmer. For your health, to feel better about yourself, to fit your clothes more easily or for a special event you are attending.
Remember these are the tips you will have already learned to help you kick start your weight loss.
