How water can help you slim

It's World Water Day

It may surprise you to learn this, but there is a world water day and it was today and it seemed apt because the last tip for slimming actually involves water.

Water is one of the world's most important resources and it will affect every single person. If you live in a home with running water, you probably don't think twice before boiling your kettle, running a tap to wash your hands or clean a glass or dish, putting the washing machine on, taking a quick shower or a long bath, flushing the lavatory throughout the day and countless other activities that involve water. If there is a problem with the water supply you no doubt find it very inconvenient and the longer it goes on the more of a problem it can be. But imagine if everyday is like that. Worrying about where your water will come from and if you have enough just to complete basic tasks such as cooking, cleaning and washing. 800 million people on earth live without access to clean water.

So while today's tip to help you slim involves drinking water, perhaps you could be conservative in how you use water in other aspects of your life and think of simple ways that you can conserve how you use your water in your day to day life.

Tips to slim in under 10 days

Drink more Water

Start your day with a glass or two of plain water. Women will need from 2 to 2.5 litres of water a day, while men can need up to 3.5 litres a day. Water helps your metabolism and will help eliminate toxins from your body. Having a glass of water before or during a meal will also help stop you from over eating as well. Sometimes you may mistake dehydration for hunger pains. If you find you are constantly snacking, break the habit by having a glass of water. If you still feel hungry you can then have something to eat by all means, but do try and keep it healthy.

Not keen on the taste of your water? You can filter your water if you find tap water isn't to your taste or add something like DoTerra essential oils to add a touch of flavour. DoTerra oils are very high grade and can be digested. Citrus blends such as lemon, tangerine, lime and grapefruit also have additional benefits when taken internally. Lemon has cleansing and digestive benefits, grapefruit helps your metabolism, lime acts as an antioxidant and tangerine supports a healthy digestion and metabolism.

There are lots of reasons that you may have to want to be slimmer. For your health, to feel better about yourself, to fit your clothes more easily or for a special event you are attending.

Remember these are the tips you will have already learned to help you kick start your weight loss.

  • Take a 10 walk after eating to burn calories and aid digestion
  • Eat more fibre to stay feeling fuller for longer
  • Cut down on salty foods to avoid bloating and extra calories
